I'll be honest: I almost never use Šaunuolė on my phone. I prefer studying at my computer — and the desktop version always got more attention. The mobile version stayed in "kind of works" territory — and it showed.
What Was Wrong
Buttons overlapped each other. Exercise text got cut off. The Lithuanian character keyboard covered the input field. Exercise cards didn't fit on screen, and you had to scroll up and down to see both the question and answer options at the same time. In short — it was usable, but with a constant feeling of fighting the interface.
What Changed
I redesigned the mobile experience from scratch. Not just "moved elements around" — but reconsidered how every screen should work on a small display:
- Exercises now fully fit on screen without scrolling. The question, answer options, and button — all visible at once.
- Lithuanian keyboard doesn't cover content and appears exactly when needed.
- Cards and blocks adapt to screen width instead of getting clipped.
- Navigation is cleaner — fewer elements on screen, more focus on the task.
Thank You for the Bug Reports
Most of these changes happened thanks to you. When I started Šaunuolė, it was a project for myself. But now it has users — people I know by name from our community. And it was you who sent me screenshots with broken layouts and misaligned buttons.
Every screenshot like that is an invaluable bug report. Without you, I would never have seen these issues, because I'm always on desktop. Thank you.
What's Next
The mobile version is now at the same quality level as desktop. I'll continue testing and improving it — and I'll be glad if you keep sending screenshots when something looks off.
